Deputy Director Dr Win Ko Ko Thein from Ministry of Health and Sports and owner of “Thaka Moe Nyo” Facebook account, who is charged with Section 34 (d) of Electronic Act, is granted bail and released on Ks10 million bail.
Police Major Aye Naing, head of Pyinmana Township police force, lodged a complaint against Dr Win Ko Ko Thein under Section 34 (d) of Electronic Act today.
He said the Thaka Moe Nyo account posted about the loss of medical prescription and mistakes carried out by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in related with nursery rape case. He was released on bail as two guarantors applied for bail with Ks5 million each.
“Dr Win Ko Ko Thein was detained as his remarks on Facebook in related with the nursery rape case are defaming the dignity of police force,” said a police officer from Pyinmana Township police station.
“I will continue to point out about the case as what I posted in social media have evidences,” said Dr Win Ko Ko Thein.
He is interrogated at Pyinmana Township police station today and released on bail.
Section 34 (d) of Electronic Transaction Law, which can be granted bail, stated whoever on conviction will be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend from a minimum of one year to a maximum of three years and may also be liable to a Ks5 million fine.
