Quiz on Chinese television series broadcasted by MRTV in partnership with Guangxi People’s Broadcasting Station was held in Yangon on Friday.
The quiz show is held in order to maintain the long lasting friendship between Myanmar and China, cultural exchange of the two countries and to explore the interest of the viewers.
Vice Director, Guangxi People’s Broadcasting Station, Gheng Kui said “The audience can learn the trends and developments in China through these TV series. In cooperation with MRTV, we are currently trying to broadcast a new cartoon series. Apart from Myanmar, we are also broadcasting Chinese TV series in Laos and Cambodia and we held quiz shows like this one in those countries. We would also like to broadcast the TV series on radio in cooperation with MRTV.”
Director (MI), Myanma Radio and Television, Ye Tun said “This event is kind of an introduction to Chinese TV series and the quiz on 4 Chinese TV series broadcasted, some are still broadcasting, by MRTV in cooperation with Guangxi People’s Broadcasting Station. Dubbing with Myanmar language help reach the message to the audience more effectively.”
MRTV has been broadcasting Myanmar language dubbed Chinese TV series in cooperation with Guangxi People’s Broadcasting Station since August, 2017 on every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the evening.
Attendee, Ahlone Township, Khine Moe Naing said “I'm used to watching Chinese television series with Myanmar subtitles. Nowadays, the series are dubbed with Myanmar language so that the elders and those who can't read the subtitles can understand the series by listening to the dubbed sounds. With Myanmar dubbing, the viewers don't need to be in front of the TV and they can know what's going on in the series while doing their chores.”
Attendee, Sanchaung Township, Htike Htike said “I would like to watch Chinese TV series which can help improve the moral, ethic, social and communication of young people. More viewers can be attracted to Chinese TV series through this kind of event.”
The ultimate winner of the quiz will be awarded with a tour to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
