Myanmar-China Business Council will be established this month so that Myanmar businesspeople can participate in China-Myanmar Economic Corridor of One Belt One Road (OBOR), according to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).
"Regarding OBOR, the Chinese ambassador invited businesspersons to form Myanmar-China Business Council. We are planning to form it this month," said UMFCCI president Zaw Min Win. "Local entrepreneurs are trying to participate in projects of the economic corridor that may be JV.
According to a statement issued by the Chinese embassy in Myanmar, plans are also underway to build China-Myanmar economic cooperation platform by establishing a better economic network.
During a seminar of businesspeople of the two countries held on March 26, Chinese Ambassador Hong Liang called for strenuous efforts to build China-Myanmar economic corridor and establish an economic cooperation platform.
The ambassador said he will render assistance in establishing Myanmar-China Business Council or Myanmar-China chambers of commerce and industry.
