Myanmar Under 18 players will participate in the Japafun Cup to be held on June 22 in Japan.
The Japafun Cup is organised by Japan Foundation and Japan Football Association(JFA).
Myanmar players will join Asean under 18 players from the grouping’s 10 member countries.
Goal Keeper Nay Lin Htet and Striker Pyae Phyo Aung have been selected for ASEAN Eleven and Myamar Under-15 head coach Mr Takuma Koga has also been named as the head coach for the team
“I’m very happy to be selected for the ASEAN team. I think we will get a lot of experiences from the friendly matches and I will try to use this experience for my future as a national team player,’’ said Nay Lin Htet.
The two players from the Myanmar Football Academy were selected from among the players in the Myanmar under 18 team.
The ASEAN Eleven team will compete with the Tohoku Under 18 Selection team from Japan at the J-village stadium on June 22 in Fukushima, Japan.
“We will go to Japan on June 13. Despite the fact we only get one week for our preparation, I will try my best to combine the players from ASEAN,’’ the head coach Takuma Koga said.
Nay Lin Htet was selected from Myanmar’s U-15, 16, and 18 players while Pyae Phyo Aung was selected from the Myanmar U-18 team.
