Yangon city centre will be experiencing temporary road closures and diversions for a total of eight days due to filming of a Hong Kong-Chinese crime/action film, Line Walker-2, and drivers have been urged to use alternative routes, according to a notice from the Yangon Region Traffic Enforcement Supervisory Committee on Friday.
The film is produced by Hong Kong-based Shaw Brother Pictures International and is a sequel to the 2016 film.
The firm is one of the largest film production company in its country with over 1000 films produced and popularised the kung-fu genre.
Starting on February 17, there will be a filming rehearsal and Mahabandula Park Street, from Anawratha Road till City Star Hotel, will be closed from 11am to 4:00pm, the notice stated.
On February 18, Gyar Tawya St, starting from Shwedagon Pagoda East Gate until Yay Tar Shay St, will be temporarily closed from 6:00am until 1:00pm.
Actual filming will begin on February 21, and the Mahabandula Park St, from Anawrahta Rd to City Star Hotel, will be closed off from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
In addition for a total of five days - from February 22-26, Sule Pagoda, starting from the footbridge on Anawrahta Rd until Sule Pagoda's pedestrian crossing (near Kyauktada fire department) will be closed from 6:00am until 6:00pm.
