The Myanmar Billiards and Snooker Federation has announced the list of players for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games to be hosted by the Philippines.

The federation plans to send 10 players to the SEA Games, which will be held in Manila from November 30 to December 11.

“We are planning to hold the selection matches for billiards, snooker and 9-ball pool at the SEA Games. After that, we’ll have to announce the date of selection matches for the different games,’’ said U Khin Maung Oo, secretary of the Myanmar Billiards and Snooker Federation.

In an announcement, the federation has decided to enter 10 players in three categories. There are three men and two women players for 9-ball, two men for billiards and three men for snooker.

For the Philippines SEA Games, the Myanmar Billiards and Snooker Federation is expecting to win gold medal from its selected players.

“We’ll try the best to get gold medals in the SEA Games. I have experience at the SEA Games and I just want to get the gold medal in the men’s single snooker event because this is my ambition and my dream,’’ said Nay Thway Oo, a Myanmar snooker player who was also an Asian snooker champion.

Myanmar won six medals in the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games in 2017.

It won only three silver and three bronze medals and missed the goal medal in the 2017 Games.

Chit Ko Ko won silver in English billiards singles, and Aung Htay and Min Sithu Tun won silver in English billiards doubles. Maung Maung and Aung Moe Thu won silver in 9-ball pool doubles.

Nay Thway Oo won bronze in English billiards singles, Ko Htet won bronze in snooker singles and Aung Phyo and Ko Htet won bronze in snooker doubles.
