Stuffed Tofu

Tofu Stuffed is a snack Myanmar people usually eat. It is also very easy and quick to make. Tofu is firstly fried and stuffed with hot and spicy chili, fresh onion, lemon leave for fresh smell, lime juice and slice cabbage. Very yummy to eat for sure!

The following is the instruction of how to cook step by step in English
  1. Cut tofu diagonally so that it would give 2 triangular pieces. Then half each piece so it becomes 4 pieces in total.
  2. Marinate tofus with turmeric powder and salt.
  3. Chop green chilli, onions, and cabbage. Cut citron leaves relatively short. 
  4. Fry tofus in reasonably large amount of heated oil. Oil required in this case is similar to the amount for deep fried dishes for non-stick purpose. Flip tofus so both sides is evenly cooked. It is cooked when both sides turn to yellowish colour.
  5. Prepare the stuffing. Put the chopped vegetables into one bowl together with crushed dried prawns, fish sauce, and fried garlic. You may add more dried prawns for rich taste. Addeither fresh lime juice or fresh lemon juice and mix everything thoroughly.
  6. Choose the longest side of triangular tofu and make an opening for the stuffing by cutting it. You may use either scissors or knife for cutting.
  7. Finally, stuff the tofus
