Fried Tamarind 

Tamarind is very redundant to find nearly whole part of Myanmar. Myanmar people used this ingredient to make a strong taste dish which is compatible with cold season.


Ingredients
Fresh tamarind fruid - 350 g
Sun dried prawn - 80 g
Preserved fish paste - 1 tablespoon
Dried crush chilli - 1 tablespoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Chicken powder - 1 teaspoon
Tumeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Onion - 3
Garlic - 5 cloves
Oil - 160g

The following is the instruction of how to cook step by step in English
  1. Peel tamarinds and rinse them. Pound them. You may also crush them in a blender.
  2. Slice onions and garlics into thin pieces.
  3. Dilute preserved fish paste with water in a small tea cup.
  4. Blend the dried prawns.
  5. Heat oil in the pan for pan-frying. Fry onions and garlics until their colour starts turning into brown. Then take them out from the pan and cool them.
  6. Put the crushed prawns, the fish paste, turmeric powder and the crushed chilli powder into same pan. Fry them together in gentle heat until they boil. Add the pounded tamarinds in and gentle fry them until they start to sizzle.
  7. Add those fried onions and garlics from step 5 and stir everything thoroughly. You may also taste and wish to adjust flavour by adding either salt or chicken powder.
